Small groups chosen for compatibility
A good group walk isn't simply a matter of putting several dogs together and setting off. We consider temperament, size, age, energy and social behaviour before placing a dog in a group. Current outings often involve around five suitable dogs, allowing us to watch interactions and help the group move together without the feel of a large pack.
From Billingham, we plan a different route each day. New scents, surfaces and surroundings give dogs more to process than a repeated short circuit, while walking companions provide constructive social time.

Long adventures with sensible pauses
Group adventures commonly last from 90 minutes to two hours and can extend to three and a half hours. On Fridays, fewer dogs and two walkers can support a half-day format where the group and route are suitable. Length always depends on the dogs attending and the conditions that day.
We set expectations around lead control, recall and manners before a dog joins. During longer outings, we consider rest and access to drinking water. If your dog tends to rush greetings, guard resources or tire quickly, tell us at the start.
Frequently asked questions
How do we know if our dog suits a group walk?
We ask about temperament, recall, lead behaviour, energy and previous social experiences. We then consider how your dog may fit with the current group. Joining isn't based on size alone, and we won't promise that every dog will enjoy the same social format.
Are dogs off the lead during group adventures?
Lead arrangements depend on recall, behaviour, the route and the information agreed with you. Please be clear about your dog's normal response to distractions. We keep control and group safety ahead of covering extra distance or giving every dog identical freedom.
Why do some Friday walks last much longer?
Fridays can involve fewer dogs and two walkers, which may support a half-day adventure of up to three and a half hours. We only use the extended format when the route, conditions and dogs taking part make that plan appropriate.
